I think it’s cheaper to buy food now, but it is better to be able to grow own food when money runs out with oil reserves.
the water that feeds these trees is deslinated which requires lots and lots of, you guessed it, oil.
Dessert trees are planted to protect the road from sand dune. Dessert trees consume very less of water at the beginning 5 years?! then they can survive alone!
I don’t think he’s judging it, just showing it. It’s unusual to spend so much money on irrigation for “beauty” only.
