Hey, Nick!
It depends on National Park, place where you will stay during your tour and your expectations.
I'm gonna say from my own experience. We've been in Tanzania in September 2010. Price for a 1-day safari tour in company of middle-price segment was 150$ for one person. Besides, it wasn't very famous National Park (we've visited Mikumi NP) so it was much cheaper than in Serengeti NP, for example. If you will do 4WD safari, it's gonna cost you cheaper than walking safari. Entrance fee to national parks vary from 20$ to 100$. If you are gonna stay in camping areas in national park, it again will cost you less than staying in luxury lodge in the heart of park (1 night in such lodges usually cost about 600-1000 dollars). But if you stay outside of park boundaries in hostels around, it could be even cheaper.
So it really depends on national park, season, tour company. My advice is to choose tour company not in Dar es Salaam, cause it will cost you much more. But choose in place of your staying (i mean, it's better to find tour company in Arusha if you're going to Serengeti).
Anyway, good luck, Tanzania is amazing country)
