This video was conceived as part of the Earth Tones exhibition as it traces the history of my musical instrument, "The California Gaval Dashy." It begins with a 1983 recording of Cingiz Mehdiyev, the renowned Azerbaijani percussionist, playing the famous Gaval Dashy (Tambourine Stone) in Qobustan, Azerbaijan. I recorded a short video on September 29, 2008 of Qobustan tour guide, Farhat Khanatov, playing a smaller version of the Gaval Dashy. The final segment documents a portion of the recording session on "The California Gaval Dashy," by The Antenna Repairmen, Robert Fernandez, MB Gordy and Arthur Jarvinen, at todosomething Studio, Highland Park, California, on April 17, 2009. The soundtrack from The Antenna Repairmens improvisational session was playing during the installation of the Earth Tones exhibition. 0:00 - Azerbaijan musician, Cingiz Mehdiyev plays in Qobustan, Azerbaijan. Question by Rafa: Anyone know a good tour operator in Ecuador? Cruises or tours in Galapagos and Amazon?
Im traveling to Ecuador in a couple of weeks, I was wondering if anyone knows a good traveling company. I want to go to Quito, Galapagos and Amazon Jungle...
Best answer:
Answer by Jonathan P
Hi there, I was there a couple of months ago and I asked the exact same question to my hotel and some friends. The most recommended one was this one called ec travel. They offer about everything you can think of in Ecuador, cruises, scuba diving, mountain climbing, birdwatching, and in Galapagos they are one of the best ones.
I think their website still misses some info, but contact them if you want, they are great with customer service.

English Captain Kevin Petersen has said to his board to make a choice out of him and coach. Batsman further said that he and Coach can not continue together with each other any more. England Board has started considering on the next coach name for up coming English Cricket team’s tour to West Indies and there are chances that former cricketer Ashley Giles would be appointed as next English Cricket Team Coach. If English Cricket Board gives his decision in favor of Captain Kevin Pietersen then English board may suffer loss of worth 2.5 million Pounds and this dilemma between Captain and Coach Peter Moores has put ECB into new trouble.
Managing director of ECB tried his best to make Pietersen understand but he replied that English Board should choose one person between me and Coach. Managing director said that current conditions can not be said well for board and we should make decision and this row should be settled before goes to Caribbean. He further said that we want such kind of solution which is good for English team.
The conflict between English Cricket Team Captain Kevin Petersen and Coach Peter Moores arose when Coach refused to include former captain Michael Vaughan in the squad.

Experience Fun and Excitement in Australia Tours
Australia tours are the latest ways to take the country by storm and experience everything that it has to offer. There are a lot of Australia tours out there, so it is smart to begin by narrowing down which area of Australia you would like to visit. Australia is divided up into six areas: Western Australia, South Australia, Northern Territory, Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria. If you are looking to stay near big cities in Australia then you would probably want to look into Australia tours in the New South Wales area. New South Wales is comprised of much of Australias mainland and New Zealand so it is a must for anyone who is visiting for the first time.
One of the most wonderful Australia tours available today is the three day Sydney to Melbourne tour. Sydney is the largest city in all of Australia and is the state capital of New South Wales. Sydney is most widely known for its beautiful opera house which has become world famous. This tour will allow you to discover Australia through the city of Canberra, the Australian Alps, the Snowy River wilderness and Wilsons Promontory National Park. All of these are just stops along the way as you travel between two of the largest cities in Australia. This tour allows you as a traveler to experience the largest range of climates and environments.
The first day of the trip is spent traveling from Sydney to Jindabyne via Canberra. Canberra is the capital city of Australia and also home to the Prime Minister. This leg of the trip includes an educational tour of the Parliament House and some of the other embassies along the way. The first day ends by arriving in the town of Jindabyne in the late afternoon where you can truly feel the relaxed atmosphere in the village. There are many things to do in this small alpine village like trout fishing, water skiing or even wake boarding on the lake.
The second day of the tour takes you from the Australian Alps all the way to the Lakes Entrance via Snowy River Country. During the early morning, your tour guide will take you on an amazing hike along the alpine track which has breathtaking views of glacial Blue Lake and the top of the highest point in Australia. The third and last day of the tour takes you all the way to Melbourne. Here you will have the opportunity to visit some of the most beautiful National Parks and enjoy the pastoral landscape of Melbourne.
This Australia tour is great because it is not too long, but it allows you to see two of the most popular cities in Australia. The level of difficulty is low enough for all skill levels and is even great for a family vacation.
