The Ultimate Argentina Tour: How to See it All

The Ultimate Argentina Tour: How to See it All

Argentina is a vast country with varied landscapes and climates. There is the hot Chaco in the north, extreme cold and glaciers in the southern Tierra del Fuego, grassland pampas near Buenos Aires, the Andes along the western border with Chile, the Iguazu riverbed, the Ibera marshes, petrified forests in the inland plateau, rocky coastlines along Peninsula Valdes, vineyards in Mendoza, and the list goes on.

It may sound crazy, but it's possible: you can travel all around Argentina, touring the most popular Argentina travel destinations, in two weeks. Here's how to see Buenos Aires, Iguazu Falls, Puerto Madryn, Ushuaia, El Calafate, and Bariloche in 13 days.

Fly into Buenos Aires and transfer to your Buenos Aires hotel. Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, is the largest and most happening city in Argentina. It has a European feel and is nicknamed the Paris of South America. There is plenty to see, do, and eat in Buenos Aires.

The next day, take a Buenos Aires city tour. Take a guided tour of the city center, from Plaza San Martin to Plaza de Mayo and Avenida 9 de Julio. It's impossible to see it all in a day, but you can see the best of the palaces, museums, and neighborhoods on a guided tour.

In the evening, catch dinner and a tango show at a porte?a in town. The most famous tango club is Esquina Carlos Gardel. There are plenty to choose from. Many are pricey and touristy, but the dancing is professional and dazzling.

The next day, transfer to the airport to fly to Puerto Iguazu. Once you arrive, transfer to your Puerto Iguazu hotel. Puerto Iguazu, located in northeast Argentina on the border with Brazil, is the town 18 km northwest of the world-famous Iguazu Falls. You can enjoy the evening strolling the downtown, checking out the pubs and shops.

On day four of your Argentina vacation, go on an Iguazu Falls tour. The Iguazu Falls is a powerful set of waterfalls fed by the Iguazu and Alto Parana rivers. The falls are set within two national parks, one on the Argentina side of the border, and one on the Brazil side. You can take a boat tour of the falls, and take a train ride and hike through the park.

Next stop Puerto Madryn. On day five, fly to the Valdes Peninsula airport and transfer to your Puerto Madryn hotel. Puerto Madryn is located on the coast south of Buenos Aires. It is known for its great wildlife and whale watching tours, as well as scuba diving in the gulfs protected by the Valdes Peninsula. In the seaside town of Puerto Madryn, you can enjoy the Welsh heritage by having teatime.

Take a Valdez Peninsula tour on day six of your Argentina vacation. Check out the village of Puerto Piramides, the Istmo Ameghino Interpretation Center, the salt lakes, Punta Delgada, Caleta Valdes, and Punta Cantor, and the Puerto Madryn lighthouse.

On day seven, fly to the depths of Tierra del Fuego. Land in the Ushuaia airport and transfer to your Ushuaia hotel. This picturesque city, the southernmost in the world, was once a pioneer town but is fast growing, in part due to the beautiful surrounding scenery.

The following day, tour the beautiful landscape of Tierra del Fuego national park, and then take a Beagle Channel boat cruise.

On day nine of your Argentina tour, you will head out to El Calafate, a small hiking town on the banks of Lago Argentino, and only a few miles outside of the Perito Moreno Glacier. Enjoy the day in town, and take a walk around the lake. The next day, you will take a tour of the huge Perito Moreno Glacier, and you can also go ice hiking or take a boat cruise.

The following day, you will fly to Bariloche, the skiing capital of Argentina. Spend the evening checking out the shops in this Swiss chalet-style resort. There are plenty of fondue and chocolate shops as well. The next day, take a Bariloche tour of the lakes and mountains. Then hit the slopes, or take another Bariloche tour.

On day 13, wake up in your Bariloche hotel in time for breakfast, and then transfer to the airport for your journey home. You have experienced Argentina!

Tours Gone Wild Expanding to More Brazil Travel Destinations

Tours Gone Wild Expanding to More Brazil Travel Destinations

Tours Gone Wild is one of the premier travel companies offering travel packages to Brazil. The company started in 2004 with Brazil as its main destination but has expanded to Argentina, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru, Spain, and Greece as well as offering travel packages to Miami, where the company is based.

Brazil remains as one of TGW's main destinations and in 2008, the company opened an office in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to offer its clients better service as well as have a presence in Brazil. "One of the keys to surviving in the travel industry during these times is offering something unique with excellent service at a good price. We started the company in 2004 with more of a focus on nightlife and a younger demographic, but we have evolved into a full service travel company that caters to everyone. Our focus is to offer a high quality Brazil vacation package and guarantee that our clients have a vacation of a lifetime", says Arturo Perchemlian, TGW Co-Founder.

Rio de Janeiro is TGW's most popular Brazil travel destination. Rio de Janeiro Travel Packages include airfare, accommodation, transfers, a half-day city tour and VIP nightlife services. "Our nightlife services are offered in Rio de Janeiro year-round and we customize the VIP Service on the client. We have relationships with the best nightspots in Rio, but if the client is not into the club/bar scene, we will arrange for the guide to take him/her to a nice restaurant, samba show, live music or a nice place with a more relaxed atmosphere", adds Mr. Perchemlian.

The VIP Service and TGW's expert advice is what sets TGW apart from any other company offering vacation packages to Brazil. It isn't difficult to book a Brazil travel package online, but to have someone at the destination to show you a great time and offer you expert advice is key. Once you get to the destination, it also isn't that difficult to find things to do during the day, but once the sun sets, you are lost and some areas can become a bit sketchy and unsafe.

Brazil has been growing year after year as one of the main travel destinations in Latin America (2nd in incoming tourism to Mexico). With the Brazil World Cup in 2014 and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil is on pace to become the world's top travel destination.  Even though Rio de Janeiro is TGW's home base in Brazil and its main Brazil Travel Destination, it has expanded its package offering to include Buzios, Iguazu Falls, Amazon & Manaus Region, Salvador, and Florianopolis. The company also offers Brazil Travel Packages for special events, such as Brazilian Carnival, New Years in Rio de Janeiro and the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Sao Paulo.

The service aspect of the travel industry is essential. "In the past 4 years, we have been getting a ton of add-on requests to our Rio de Janeiro trips or even stand alone trips to other Brazil Travel destinations. We have teamed up with the best travel suppliers to offer high quality vacation packages that include hotel accommodations, transfers & tours anywhere in Brazil. Although the VIP nightlife aspect is not included in other destinations, we give nightlife recommendations and can even make restaurant reservations via our Rio de Janeiro office. Florianopolis is actually becoming one of the hottest party and jet-set destinations in the world and we will be expanding our nightlife service to that Brazil Travel destination," adds Mr. Perchemlian.

I love traveling and Tours Gone Wild has shared some of my best travel experiences. Tours Gone Wild should be your first choice when making your Brazil travel plans. The company offers expert consultation to make sure you choose the best Brazil travel package based on your preferences and also assists you in obtaining all of the appropriate travel documents required for travel to Brazil. You can contact the company at (786) 522-3667 in the United States (TGW also has a UK Number – 44 20 33719356).

Never had a chance to share this with everyone on Flickr. I was in the airport flying back home when I posted on my site but I never had time to put it on Flickr. This was taken in Costa Rica on top of their beautiful rain forest. Not sure if it was a good idea dragging my camera around while doing this tour but I couldn't have gotten this image if I hadn't.
